Teacher Avoids Jail Time After Sex Accusations

A former Salpointe High School english teacher accused of having sex with a 17- year-old student won't be spending any time in jail.

Rebecca Kelley pleaded guilty to four counts, and was sentenced Wednesday to three years probation and a six month suspended jail sentence for each of them.

Those included failure to report the offense, and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

Kelley resigned last spring when the allegations came out in the open.
